There are three temples on Tianzhu Mountain in Hangzhou, which are called the three temples of Tianzhu. The Lower Tianzhu Temple was established early and has a history of more than 1,600 years. The Lower Tianzhu Temple is also called Fajing Temple. It was damaged during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty and rebuilt again during the Guangxu period. Today’s Fajing Temple is a nunnery around the West Lake and also a major place for many pilgrims to worship Buddha and pray for blessings.
