Heihu Spring is one of the four major spring groups in Jinan (Baotu Spring, Heihu Spring, Pearl Spring, and Wulongtan). It is located in Jinan Huancheng Park, to the east of Quancheng Square. Under the cover of green trees, it is connected to the ancient city moat on the east side of the square and faces the Liberation Pavilion opposite. Heihu Spring is very imposing among the springs in Jinan. It is a naturally formed cave with a water depth of 3 meters. In the night, from a distance, it sounds more like a tiger roar, hence the name of this spring. The spring water pours into the square spring pool. The spring water in the pool is clear and green algae floats. Then it flows into the moat to form a waterfall. Therefore, Heihu Spring has become a major scenic spot in Huancheng Park.
Tour Guide: When you come to Heihu Spring, you will find many citizens fetching water here, which shows the excellent water quality. If you are fully equipped, you can also try tasting this spring water. There are pavilions specially set up for viewing springs in this Huancheng Park. Tourists can see the spring water spraying out from three stone carvings through an underground passage from the cave.

The spray can reach more than one meter. It stirs up layers of water splashes in the square pool made of bluestone, which is thrilling. After visiting Heihu Spring in the square pool, tourists can come to the north of the square pool. Here is a sluice. The overflowing water forms a water curtain and drains into the river, just like a waterfall. Tourists can watch the water gushing out from under the huge rock and rushing against the huge rock, making a rough sound.

Not far from Heihu Spring, there is also a small pool located in the cave of the stone wall. There is no trace of artificial decoration. Many local people gather here to draw spring water. Tourists can also fill mineral water bottles here to taste the water. The spring water has a refreshing coolness and can relieve the summer heat. To the east of the spring source, there are two huge tigers, one made of copper and the other made of stone.

They raise their heads and hoofs, showing the momentum of a fierce tiger coming down the mountain. It’s very majestic. Tourists can take photos here with them.
