Hengshao Island is located at the eastern end of the Yangtze River estuary in the northeast of Baoshan District, Shanghai. It is a petite island among the three islands affiliated with Chongming County. Its functional positioning is as a ‘leisure resort island’, primarily developing projects such as an international convention and exhibition center, an international entertainment center, low-density comfortable residential villa areas, and a yacht club. In 1992, Hengshao Island was listed as one of the first 13 tourist resorts.
The entire island of Hengshao covers an area of 52 square kilometers, known for its compact and agile nature. The island is lush with forests and crisscrossed by a network of waterways, earning it the reputation of ‘Shanghai’s countryside park with clean air, water, atmosphere, and sounds’. It has successively won titles such as ‘National Beautiful Environment Town’ and ‘National Civilized Town’. The proportion of centenarians on the island is four times the United Nations standard, making it known as China’s longevity island. It is an ideal place for leisure and vacation. In spring, you can leisurely gather friends on the villa balcony to enjoy tea, breathe in the fresh air mixed with the fragrance of grass, and fish by the railing; in summer, you can enjoy the natural sunbathing on the beach, stroll in the seawater along the sandy shore, and dance with friends; in autumn, you can pick the large and sweet citrus fruits in the citrus orchard, enjoy the joy of harvest, and fly kites with friends, watch the sunrise, and send off the sunset; in winter, the island is open all year round and is accessible 24/7.Hengshao Island
