Hengshui Lake, located in the land known as the ‘Hometown of Dongzi and the Land of Great Confucians,’ is one of the largest inland freshwater lakes in the North China Plain, with a vast water body. It is an inland wetland that preserves a complete ecosystem, including water bodies, marshes, mudflats, meadows, and forests. It serves as an important stop and transfer station on the East Asian-Australasian migration route, a habitat for the critically endangered Baikal teal, and is recognized as a national key cultural relics protection unit, a national nature reserve, a national water conservancy scenic area, and a national ecological tourism demonstration area, earning it the reputation of ‘The First Lake South of Beijing’ and ‘The Sapphire of East Asia’.
The Hengshui Lake Scenic Area covers an area of 26.4 square kilometers, which includes the ‘Double Gold Event’ Hengshui Lake Marathon circuit around the lake, connecting the Hengshui Lake Ecological Experience Area, Jizhou Ancient City Historical and Cultural Area, Luli Ancient Town Traditional Culture Research Area, and the Daddy Duck Adventure Island Family Resort Area. Visitors to Hengshui Lake can boat on the lake to enjoy the vast expanse of green waves and rolling bird waves; they can wander through the Hengshui Lake Wetland Ecological Museum to appreciate the historical scroll of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature; they can stop at the Jizhou Ancient City site for a dialogue with the great Confucian Dongzi through time and space; they can enter the Sun Jing School to learn and experience traditional Chinese etiquette and filial piety culture; and they can join their family for a refreshing game on Daddy Duck Adventure Island.

Preferential policies: Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) are free; children between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive) are half price. Students with a valid student ID (including original high school and college entrance examination admission tickets during July and August) are half price. Elderly people aged 60 and above (inclusive) with a senior citizen card or ID card are half price. Disabled people with a disability card (the disability card does not distinguish levels) enjoy discounts; severely disabled people with physical disabilities, blind people, and people with intellectual disabilities are allowed one accompanying person to enjoy discounted tickets, half price. Active-duty soldiers, retired soldiers, and disabled soldiers with valid certificates are half price. National firefighting and rescue personnel with valid certificates are half price.
