Hezhizhou Wetland Park is located on the east bank of the Zengjiang River in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou City, facing the Yan Tower across the river and connected to the Feng Tower by water. This place has been a habitat for cranes since ancient times. Thousands of white cranes can be seen foraging in the shallow water at times, and at other times, they soar into the sky, creating a harmonious and spectacular scene. The nearby Hezhou Village is named after this phenomenon.
The Hezhizhou Wetland Park covers an area of about 250 acres, with lush lychee forests that contrast beautifully with the surging Zengjiang River. On the grassy banks, a pool of dappled light and shadow in the shallow water, a withered but standing lychee forest,以其粗大的躯干和苍劲的枝桠展示着生命不死的奇特与天地间超然的艺术造型之美。Hezhizhou Wetland Park is actually fenceless and gateless; it is called a park because of its beauty and the cycling greenway that passes through. It is two to thirty kilometers away from the lake island. The park is open all year round, 24 hours a day.
