Originally constructed during the Ming Dynasty Wanli period, this site was once the study of Xu Xie, a Ming Dynasty scholar. During the Qing Dynasty Kangxi period, after the Qing troops captured Jinmen, it was transformed into the General’s Office of the Qing Army.
The existing General’s Office is a typical four-deep, two-corridor style Southern Fujian Siheyuan, preserving the traditional layout of the main gate, grand hall, courtyard, and side rooms. Inside, various artifacts related to the General’s Office are displayed, as well as the underground cells used to imprison criminals in the past.
Outside, there is an ancient banyan tree with lush branches and strong, towering trunk, as if narrating the stories of the past. The opening hours are subject to the daily operation status.
