Wu Guanzhong (1919 – 2010) studied traditional Chinese ink painting in his early years. Later, he stepped into the colorful world of oil painting. After further studies in France, he returned to China. Throughout his life, he explored the art of integrating Chinese and Western elements. In his later years, he returned to the black-and-white world of ink painting in different postures. Such life experiences and artistic pursuits have made the seemingly cold and dull black, white, and gray become the most beautiful and warmest colors under his brush, containing rich meanings such as Western graphic design and traditional Chinese aesthetics. The exhibition is divided into two phases to display selected ink and oil paintings from the collection. Accompanied by selected quotes from the artist, it leads the audience to appreciate the master’s unique color aesthetics from a first-person perspective and experience the infinite passion and imagination triggered between black and white. Opening hours: From September 13th to February 12th, open from Monday to Wednesday, Friday to Sunday, 10:00 – 18:00. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
