With warmth and rebirth after darkness, it shakes the soul. – Japanese orchestral post-rock Mono’s Hong Kong tour stop.
Speaking of Japanese post-rock, one must not fail to mention Mono. The Tokyo instrumental post-rock band established in 1999 is regarded as the most influential. So far, there have been more than 150 performances. The British NME magazine once described Mono’s works as ‘the beautiful music of the gods’. It makes people feel as if they are on the clouds. Friends who have listened to it should have deeply felt that Mono is good at integrating delicate orchestral music into Shoegaze psychedelic elements and gradually presenting Mono’s unique and broad inner world.
‘If you want to depict light, then you must gaze at darkness.’ – What makes Mono’s songs different from other post-rock is that it is different from the desolate end-of-the-world decadence. It feels like a reborn world after exhaustion. It is a gentle and powerful light. After experiencing hardships, it creates a sincere tunnel from darkness to light with instruments and sound effects, transmitting the touch that breaks through the soul.
