As the gateway connecting Hong Kong with the world, the airport, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Bureau’s Creative Industries Development Office, and the producers of the film ‘Kowloon Walled City: Besieged City’, presents the ‘Step into Hong Kong, Step into Hong Kong Cinema’ Kowloon Walled City Film Exhibition. This exhibition invites travelers to explore the legendary landmark of Hong Kong’s past.
The exhibition is now open in Terminal A of the airport arrival hall, recreating various classic scenes from the movie and meticulously restoring the life of Kowloon Walled City in the 1980s. The two-story walled city buildings, built to scale, house six major exhibition areas, which are ‘Barber Shop’, ‘Tea Stall’, ‘Grocery/Plastic Flower Workshop’, ‘Well/Appliance Store’, ‘Back Alley’, and ‘Attic’. These areas guide visitors to reminisce about the exciting moments of the film and to understand the unique culture and historical sentiments of Hong Kong.
