This exhibition delves deeply into the concept of ‘inheritance’ on both tangible and intangible levels. We will explore together what we have inherited and how to pass it on. When inheriting, do we notice the value of things, or do we let them slip away quietly without realizing their significance and importance? Do we preserve them in their original form or evolve them through design to better meet current needs? Are we prolonging their lifespan or advancing them to the next level (circular design)? Traditionally, inheritance is often related to receiving things from the previous generation. But can we inherit from other species? Can inheritance transcend the boundaries between nature, humans, and machines? Can there be an exchange of ideas between humans and computers (artificial intelligence)? The ‘Taking the Baton for the Future’ exhibition is divided into three parts. The first part, ‘Crossing Boundaries’: As the prelude to the exhibition series, it explores how to demonstrate value through design and lays the foundation for subsequent exploration. The second part, ‘Overclocking’: It shows how design can evolve standard processes when needed. The third part, ‘Transmission’: Bringing together the first two parts to create a coherent and comprehensive experience. Opening hours: 10/19 – 11/17. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on the day.
