The Heritage Museum is a large comprehensive museum in Hong Kong, covering history, art and culture. It adopts the traditional Chinese courtyard layout. The museum has five floors and is covered with Chinese tiled roofs. The exhibition halls are connected by corridors. There are a total of 12 exhibition halls in the museum. Six of them are special exhibitions that are updated regularly. There are also six permanent exhibition halls, including the ‘Audio-visual Guide Hall’ that plays the short film ‘Cultural Inheritance’, the ‘New Territories Heritage Museum’ for the history and cultural relics of the New Territories, the ‘Cantonese Opera Heritage Museum’ dedicated to Cantonese opera performances and development, and the ‘Children’s Discovery Hall’ for natural and cultural history.


Among them, there is also the ‘Hong Kong Childhood Toys’ exhibition, taking visitors to review the popular toys of the past. And there are two art collection halls, the ‘Tsui Chuk-Hang Chinese Art Gallery’ and the ‘Chiu Shao-ang Art Gallery’. The special exhibition halls launch diversified exhibition themes at different times.


Opening hours: Open from 10:00 to 18:00 from Monday, Wednesday to Friday throughout the year; Open from 10:00 to 19:00 on Saturday and Sunday throughout the year.
