The memorial hall is located next to Hong Xiuquan’s former residence in Huadu District. The memorial hall, apart from the序厅, is divided into four exhibition halls. The first hall reflects the era background and the entire growth process of Hong Xiuquan, including the formation of anti-Qing thoughts, literary works, and the establishment of theories. It also highlights his hometown characteristics with a design inspired by the local architectural features, using imitation blue bricks and gray tiles as the base.
The second hall showcases the process of Hong Xiuquan leading the Taiping Rebellion in Jintian Village, Guangxi, with the shape of the Jintian Uprising flag as the base, yellow with red edges, complemented by lighting to recreate the tumultuous and vigorous atmosphere of the uprising. The third hall, titled ‘Persistent Combat,’ features the style of the Heavenly Kingdom’s palace, exhibiting the establishment of the peasant regime of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The fourth hall, themed ‘Tragic Struggle,’ uses the image of a cracked city wall with a dark purple-red hue to highlight the theme of the besieged Tianjing and the valiant combat of Hong Xiuquan’s Taiping soldiers. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00; closed all day on Mondays.
