Hongchi Ba Alpine Meadow, historically known as Wanqing Pool, is located at the northwestern edge of Wuxi County and was the former residence of the Warring States historical figure, Huang Xie, also known as Chunshen Jun of Chu. Situated on the central mountainous plateau, the alpine meadow boasts a forest and grass coverage rate of over 85%, with an elevation ranging from 2800 to 2630 meters. The area spans 33 kilometers from east to west and 18 kilometers from north to south, covering a total area of 362,000 mu, including 156,000 mu of forest and 201,000 mu of meadow, making it the largest alpine meadow in southern China.
The scenic area is composed of several karstic trough valley plains. The bottom of the trough valleys is vast and flat, with lush green grass and blooming flowers in the summer, and a silvery winter landscape reminiscent of the northern regions.
