Hongensi Forest Park is located in Jiangbei District, Chongqing City. With an area of over one thousand mu, it is second only to the Central Park in the main urban area of Chongqing. The highest point in the park is 418 meters above sea level. Standing on the observation deck of Hongenge on the top of the mountain, you can see the beautiful scenery of Jiangbei District, Yubei District, Shapingba District, Yuzhong District and New North Zone.
Hongenge is an antique building with seven floors and an altitude of about 468 meters, exceeding the observation deck of ‘One Tree’ on Nanshan Mountain, which is 437.5 meters. Colorful forests are planted, covering an area of 18.4 hectares, accounting for 23% of the total area of the park. It can provide habitats for wild animals and is an important natural ecological area of the park. Hongensi Forest Park in Chongqing has planted more than 30,000 trees such as osmanthus, ginkgo, and crape myrtle. Among them, there are more than 10,000 osmanthus trees, mainly including four categories: golden osmanthus, silver osmanthus, orange osmanthus, and four-season osmanthus. There are more than 60 varieties. The types and varieties of osmanthus are numerous and complete. Chongqing Hongensi Forest Park also integrates cultural elements such as ‘gratitude culture’ and ‘osmanthus culture’ into major scenic spots.
