Located in Xinhu Village, Baimian Town, Minqing County, Fujian Province, stands a vast ancient residential complex known as Honglin Cuo, commonly referred to as Xinhu Li. It has withstood the test of time across several centuries, presenting a unique and distinct architectural character. The ancestral home has weathered two hundred years, housing seven generations of descendants. Covering an area of 17,832.

28 square meters, Honglin Cuo consists of 35 halls of varying sizes, 666 residential rooms, 25 gardens, 30 sky wells, and 4 wells. The interior layout is intricate yet orderly, with a土木 structure that features symmetrical wings, arches, and exquisite craftsmanship in wood carving and painting, making it a residential building designed and constructed in one go with an intricate overall structure. The owners of Honglin Cuo take pride in the three plaques hanging inside: the one at the main entrance bearing the large characters ‘Honglin Cuo’, the one above the second hall inscribed with ‘Respect for the Nation and Strength’, documenting the ideals and sentiments of the Chinese people during a humiliating era.

Above the third hall hangs the plaque ‘Zi Wei Luan Jia’. It is open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00.
