Hongyan Scenic Area is located on the southwest side of the Hongyan Tunnel entrance, 8 kilometers away from the county town. Within the scenic area, peculiar peaks and strange rocks stand tall, with steep cliffs and precipices, deep and unfathomable holes at the bottom of valleys, magnificent waterfalls, and pristine broad-leaved forests that are deep, secluded, and lush.
The main attractions include Hongyan Peak, Steamer Rock, Silver Washing Waterfall, Colorful Silver Cave, Cliff Gallery, White Monkey Peak, Stone Sprout Peak, Heaven’s Barrier Valley, Elephant Trunk Rock, and Eagle Rock, among more than 20 others.
The peaks, cliffs, rocks, caves, waterfalls, streams, ponds, beaches, trees, flowers, grasses, and birds in the scenic area present a thousand different postures, forming a gorgeous and colorful landscape painting. The scenic area is open all year round from 06:00 to 18:00, with specific business status subject to the actual opening conditions on the day.
A must-see tip: The best time for diving here is between November each year and April of the following year. Most people choose to stay on Dongyi’s Ya Island and then proceed to dive and play in Hongyan and Ziyan.
