Hongyan Village, originally known as Hongyan Zui, is located at No. 52 Hongyan Village, near Hualong Bridge in Yuzhong District, Chongqing City, with the Jialing River to its north. The village is named after its dominant geological composition, the Jurassic red shale. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Eighth Route Army’s Chongqing Office was established in Hongyan Village, making a significant contribution to the victory of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War.
