The Hongyi Master Memorial Hall is located in Zunsheng Courtyard within Kaiyuan Temple in Licheng District. It displays historical materials, photos, works and calligraphic treasures of the Hongyi Master (Li Shutong), a modern eminent monk and one of the pioneers of China’s New Culture Movement, during the last 14 years of his life when he lived in Quanzhou.
The Hongyi Master Memorial Hall in Quanzhou Dakaiyuan Temple (Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple) features an art exhibition of the Hongyi Master. The exhibited pictures vividly present the life story of the Hongyi Master. The relics, calligraphic works and relevant cultural relics of the Hongyi Master are amazing. Among them are an oil painting of the Hongyi Master painted by the famous painter Xu Beihong and works by Feng Zikai.
