Hua Shi Lou is located at the southern end of Qingdao’s Badaguan, a beautiful European-style castle building. It features Gothic architectural characteristics that attract many tourists to take photos here.
Hua Shi Lou’s main building has a staircase that leads to the top floor, where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the nearby Second Seawater Bathing Beach and the distant sea views. The construction of Hua Shi Lou began in 1930. It consists of a 5-story main building and a 4-story multi-angled building. The entire building is made of marble, hence the name. Upon entering Hua Shi Lou, the rooms inside are exquisite and compact, giving a feeling that is not as vast as the exterior might suggest. The rooms on the third and fourth floors have been transformed into a tourist souvenir sales department, selling small models of Lao Mountain stones and old Qingdao buildings, of course, including models of Hua Shi Lou, which are relatively expensive. Exiting Hua Shi Lou, the courtyard is filled with many roses, and ivy climbs up the outer walls, making the entire Hua Shi Lou more vibrant. It has also been a filming location for many movies and TV series, including ‘The Sacred Mission’, which has filmed both indoor and outdoor scenes here. Hua Shi Lou is open all year round from 08:30 to 17:00.Hua Shi Lou
