The Guangzhou Agricultural Science Grand View under the Guangzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences is located in Gaoxi Village, Huadong Town, Huadu District. It is subordinate to the Guangzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences and covers an area of more than 400 mu. The base introduces advanced modern agricultural cultivation technologies and adopts a garden-style layout, perfectly combining urban pastoral scenery with modern agriculture.
It is a good place for citizens to relax and travel and for students to experience popular science. In the “Agricultural Science Grand View”, there are functional areas such as the crop research area, rice farming area, plant protection experiment area, and agricultural expo museum. In addition, to facilitate tourism, the base is also equipped with services such as fresh vegetable restaurants, fishing, barbecue, and accommodation. There are nearly 300 varieties of “new, strange, special, and excellent” crop varieties on display all year round in the Agricultural Fun Garden in the base: peculiarly shaped pumpkins and gourds, breathtaking tomato trees, colorful fruit peppers, brightly colored red amaranth, mint and garlic trees with strong fragrance, and dancing grass that dances to music, making you linger and forget to return. Inside the agricultural expo museum, there are a complete range of old farming tools on display, such as plows and harrows for plowing, waterwheels for irrigation, wheelbarrows for transportation, and winnowing machines for husking rice. Citizens can understand the development and evolution process of human labor tools and feel the labor wisdom of predecessors. The popular science activities carried out by the Agricultural Science Grand View, in addition to watching agricultural popular science films, visiting the agricultural expo museum, and understanding butterfly evolution, also allow urbanites to find the long-lost farming fun through hands-on interactive activities such as planting, picking, and catching fish.Opening hours: From January 1st to December 31st, 08:30 – 18:00.
