The 28th day of the ninth lunar month is the sacrificial day of Emperor Huaguang. Huaguang Ancient Temple will hold activities. It is said that Huaguang is the fire god in the south and also the patron saint of Cantonese opera in the old days. Every year on the 28th day of the ninth lunar month, Cantonese opera artists will hold a grand ceremony to worship Emperor Huaguang, commonly known as “Huaguang’s birthday”.
