Huangtengxia Ecological Tourism Area is one of the first batch of national AAAA rafting scenic spots, boasting abundant and high-quality water sources, majestic canyons, and undulating river resources. Known as ‘China’s thrilling, exciting, and fun rafting scenic spot’, it enjoys the reputation of ‘the peak of rafting’ in the industry. The rafting water quality meets the national secondary drinking water standards.
The 8-kilometer-long Huangtengxia original grand canyon integrates waterfalls and deep pools, with cliffs facing each other, towering peaks, rapid beaches, and splashing silver waterfalls, captivating visitors. Due to its thrilling nature and original ecological rafting, it was designated as the main venue for the ‘National Natural Water Rafting Competition’ in 2005 and hosted the ‘Qingyuan Huangtengxia Cup’ International Rafting Competition in 2006. The scenic area is conveniently located just 3.8 kilometers from Qingyuan city center, with easy access via Huangtengxia highway exit, allowing visitors to reach the area effortlessly.The scenic area offers a variety of tourism projects, including canyon rafting, mountain coasters, sightseeing cable cars, sightseeing plank roads, Tianmen Suspension Bridge, 7D flight theaters, science museums, and Huangteng Eighteen Waterfalls, catering to the diverse needs of tourists. In addition, the scenic area’s Tianmen Glass Suspension Corridor, with its world-famous circular waterfall and unique canyon suspension corridor light show, has set eight world records and has become a popular internet celebrity check-in spot, known as a masterpiece of Guangdong’s glass corridors, attracting over a million visitors from all over the country each year.
The scenic area is equipped with facilities such as parking lots, luggage storage, and convenience stores, providing convenient services for visitors. It also offers free internal transportation – shuttle buses for easy access to rafting and mountain attractions. Opening hours are year-round from Monday to Friday, 12:30-21:30; Saturday and Sunday, 09:00-21:30.
Preferential policies for military personnel: Active and retired military personnel can enjoy free access to Huangtengxia Scenic Area’s Tianmen Suspension Corridor and Huangteng Eighteen Waterfalls with valid identification (such as officer’s certificate, soldier’s certificate, retired military preferential certificate, etc.). They are also entitled to a free one-way cable car or mid-bus pick-up to the mountain (subject to the scenic area’s operational conditions).
