Located beside Bao Sheng Lake in Yubei District, Chongqing, HuaRen Contemporary Art Museum was established in 1994 and officially opened in 1995. With a total construction area of 5000 square meters, the museum’s name was personally written by the renowned painter Mr. Wu Guanzhong. It is the first private art museum in China and a non-profit public welfare organization dedicated to promoting cultural development.


The museum houses and displays a vast collection of oil paintings, sculptures, installations, and photographic works of documentary value in the history of Chinese contemporary art, as well as letters and manuscripts. Renowned Chinese art magazines such as ‘Art BaSha’, ‘Chongqing Daily’, and ‘Phoenix Magazine’ have conducted exclusive interviews with the museum, praising it as a pioneer in the development of private art museums in China.


Over the past two decades since its opening, the museum has received nearly 500,000 visitors from both domestic and international sources.
