The Huidong County Museum is located beside the Guangzhou-Shantou Road (National Highway 324) in Pingshan Town, the county seat of Huidong County. It backs on Qiliao Mountain and faces South Lake.

It was completed in October 1989, covering an area of 5,385 square meters with a building area of 1,200 square meters. There are an exhibition building, an office building, a cultural relics warehouse, etc. The main building, the exhibition building, has an “E”-shaped layout and is divided into four exhibition halls. The walls are pasted with green-yellow glass mosaics, with orange-yellow glazed tiles and polished floors. It is a Qing Dynasty-style garden building.
