Huiming Temple is located on Huiming Spring Mountain, the sub-peak of Chimu Mountain in Jingning County. It was built in the second year of Xiantong (861) in the Tang Dynasty and is named after Monk Huiming. In the 19th year of Jiaqing (1814) of the Qing Dynasty, the main hall was rebuilt. In the fourth year of Tongzhi (1865), the back hall and left and right porches were built. Now only the mountain gate, stone path and the remaining walls on both sides remain. The wooden door of the original main hall in the courtyard is dilapidated and was rebuilt after 1982. According to legend, monks and She people opened up land around the temple to grow tea. The world-renowned ‘Huiming Tea with Gold Award’ is produced here.
