Huiri Zen Temple, formerly known as Huiri Hermitage, is located in Dongyi Village, Zhanqi Town, Yinzhou District. The temple was originally built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, more than four hundred years ago. It is said to have been constructed by an ancestor of the Xie family from the Shenglixiang clan in Dongyi Village, Zhanqi Town, Yinzhou District, Ningbo City.
Huiri Zen Temple is backed by the ancient Tian Tong Zen Temple and the King Asoka Temple with a history of thousands of years. The entire temple is resplendent with gold and jade and exudes an extraordinary aura. Outside, there is a garden, a pagoda, and three bridges. Inside, there are two corridors, three main halls, and four monastic rooms. Additionally, there are halls for various bodhisattvas, pavilions, ponds, lawns, and flower beds. The vastness of its scope and the beauty of its architecture surpass those of the surrounding temples, attracting a large number of pilgrims from all directions.
