Introduction: The Huizhou Charm performance is directed by domestic director Duan Jianping. Based on Huizhou’s historical culture and taking historical stories such as ‘Huizhou Opera Troupes Entering Beijing’ in the Ming and Qing Dynasties as content, it is fully created with modern multimedia technologies such as sound, light, and electricity. It not only includes the beautiful Huangshan Mountain with its four seasons; the beautiful love legend of Dong Yong and the Seventh Fairy; but also interprets the historical reasons that after going through ups and downs, ‘Huizhou merchants’ dominated China’s business circles for nearly 400 years. There are also real historical stories reflecting that the quintessence ‘Peking Opera’ evolved from ‘Huizhou Opera Troupes Entering Beijing’. The whole performance is divided into five acts: ‘Four Seasons of Huangshan’, ‘Heaven and Earth’, ‘Crazy Dream of Huizhou’, ‘Huizhou Opera Troupes Entering Beijing’, and ‘Anhui Style and Huizhou Charm’. Each act is relatively independent and interrelated. Through epic scenes and various expression means such as music, dance, acrobatics, modern Huizhou opera, Peking Opera, flower-drum lantern dance, folk song medley, and singing and dancing, tourists are brought into a dreamy Ming and Qing time and space.
