Huizhou Museum is located at No. 3, West Road of Citizen’s Paradise, Jiangbei District, Huizhou City. The main building is designed by the Architectural Design Institute of Tongji University in Shanghai. Huizhou Museum is mainly composed of functional areas such as exhibition, collection warehouse, public service, technical office, and creative research. There are 10 exhibition halls on the first to fourth floors, with an exhibition area of 7000 square meters. Its basic exhibitions include ‘Exhibition of Fine Cultural Relics’, ‘Civilization Exhibition Hall of Dongjiang River Basin’, ‘Huizhou Historical Celebrity Hall’, and ‘Liu Lun Art Museum’. There is a multifunctional mobile exhibition hall on the first floor. It mainly undertakes various high-standard and high-level mobile exhibitions of the municipal Party committee, the municipal government and the society. The ‘Exhibition of Fine Cultural Relics’ is set up on the second floor. It mainly displays collections of fine ancient ceramics, gold lacquer wood carvings, jade articles, bronzes, murals and so on. The general history exhibition ‘Civilization Exhibition Hall of Dongjiang River Basin’ on the third floor is composed of footprints of ancestors, the mystery of Fulou, famous county in Lingnan, gathering of talents, revolutionary flames, folk customs, and Huizhou today. Based on historical relics (photos) and documents, taking major archaeological discoveries, major historical events and important historical figures as the main line, combined with modern auxiliary exhibition means such as paintings, sculptures, scenes, models, sound, light and electricity, it comprehensively shows the development process of Huizhou’s historical civilization. The ‘Huizhou Historical Celebrity Hall’ on the fourth floor displays statues of 48 historical celebrities in Huizhou. They are famous at home and abroad for their morality and writings and achievements, showing Huizhou’s rich resources, outstanding people, gathering of sages and emergence of talents. These statues of historical celebrities are works of art with collection value created by famous sculptor Mr. Cao Chong’en and teachers and students of the art department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and Shenzhen University according to a large number of historical materials. The ‘Liu Lun Art Museum’ on the fourth floor is a special painting museum of Liu Lun, a famous contemporary painter and former director of Guangzhou Academy of Painting.
