Hulu Gorge Rafting, situated in the picturesque Jiande Fuchun River Qili Yangfan Scenic Area, offers an exhilarating experience. The course spans approximately 3 kilometers with a drop of nearly 100 meters, and the entire adventure lasts about an hour. This rafting journey is renowned for four distinctive features: rapid water, grotesque rocks, peculiar forests, and numerous pools.
As you embark on the rafting, the water beneath the boat is a maelstrom of twists and turns. The boat’s journey is accompanied by splashing waves that dance in rhythm with your pounding heart. Tourists are equipped with a two-person rubber boat, life jackets, helmets, and paddles to navigate the waters.
The thrill begins as soon as the rafting starts, with screams echoing through the air as tourists feel the full impact of the rapids. It’s inevitable to get completely soaked, which adds to the exhilaration—a baptism, a filtration, and a refreshing sensation that compels one to shout out loud. This is the charm of rafting, encapsulated by the phrase “Making men laugh and women scream.”
When descending from a high drop, enormous waves surge, covering your entire body and filling the boat. This forces tourists to remove their helmets to scoop out the excess water. Throughout the rafting, tourists emit continuous screams of surprise and sighs of admiration for the breathtaking natural scenery.
The experience is one of immersion in the poetic essence of “when the mountain is exhausted and the water is exhausted, there seems to be no way, but then a village appears in the dim willows and bright flowers.” It allows you to fully experience the joy of the earth and the passion of life. The Fuchun River Qili Yangfan Scenic Area is an important part of the Fuchun River-Xin’an River-Qiandao Lake Scenic Area. It is characterized by “green mountains, clear waters, long history, and serene environment” and is the essence of Fuchun River scenery, known as “the best landscapes in the world, ancient and modern推崇 Fuchun.” It is known as one of China’s three famous river canyon scenic areas, along with the Yangtze River Three Gorges and Li River in Guilin. It features attractions such as Twin Towers Reaching the Clouds, Zixu’s Wild Ferry, Hulu Waterfall, and Gorge Rafting. Boats sailing through it evoke a poetic sentiment of “people walking in a mirror, birds flying through a screen.” Fuchun River’s Lesser Three Gorges, locally known as “Qili Long,” which means rapid water, spans 23 kilometers with a narrow river surface, steep banks, many bends, rapid waters, and numerous shoals, making the scenery exceptionally beautiful. As the cruise ship sails through Zixu Gorge, the scenery on both banks becomes increasingly beautiful. This is a true landscape painting… This scenery has indeed been depicted by many painters. Among them, there is a painting known as “national treasure” created based on this, and the name of the painting is “Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains,” and the painter’s name is Huang Gongwang.
Scenic spot features: experiencing thrills on a raft, enjoying coolness in the clear water, absorbing natural oxygen in the canyon, and enjoying a quiet night in the manor. The scenic area includes Hulu Manor and other hotels built along the mountains and waters, making it a great place to cool off and vacation in the summer.Huang Gongwang, styled Zijiu, also known as Yifeng, was skilled in calligraphy, music, and poetry. He was ambitious and promising in his youth, suffered hardships in middle age due to being implicated in a case, and lived in seclusion by the Fuchun River after the age of fifty, studying landscape painting from Dong Yuan and Ju Ran. He became famous as an old man in his eighties.
Huang Gongwang integrated all his “life savings” into painting creation. After painstaking efforts and several years, finally when he was over eighty years old, he completed this long scroll, which can be regarded as the highest realm of landscape painting – “Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains”. In the form of a long scroll, it depicts the beautiful scenery of the early autumn on both banks of the Fuchun River. The peaks are stacked with greenery, the pine and rocks are elegant, the clouds and mountains, misty trees, sandbanks and village houses are arranged in a proper density, with endless changes. With clear and moist brushstrokes and a simple and far-reaching artistic conception, the vast and continuous Jiangnan landscapes are vividly expressed, reaching the realm of “thick mountains and rivers, lush vegetation”. Seen from here, the Hulu Waterfall is clearly visible. On the steep and smooth stone wall, the uncanny workmanship of nature has carved out two connected caves, one above the other, with the upper one smaller and the lower one larger. They are extremely like a huge gourd. The waterfall water flows from the top of the cliff into the cave, then gushes out and falls down gently, hitting the concave rocks outside at different levels, scattering into water droplets like pearls and broken jade, falling into the deep pool grandly.
