Langtou – Ink Treasure Box | Heart Painting China. If there is only one art that can represent China, it must be calligraphy. ‘Heart Painting China’ takes the more than 700-year cultural context of Langtou as a clue to explore the 3,000-year inheritance of Chinese calligraphy. With a 20-minute immersive art experience and a 360-degree light and shadow art space, more than 70 famous calligraphy and painting works are innovatively reproduced, bringing you a visual and perceptual feast. The light and shadow exhibition has two clues, one bright and one dark. The bright line is the splendid evolution history of calligraphy, from the myth of Cang Jie creating characters to oracle bone inscriptions, from bronzes to bamboo slips, from ‘carving’ to ‘writing’. Corresponding to the bright line is the change of Chinese civilization and the development of the times hidden in it. Here, you will witness the legendary spectacle of Cang Jie creating characters, appreciate the clear artistic conception of Wang Xizhi’s ‘Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Collection’, feel the mournful and desolate ‘Manuscript in Memory of Nephew’ by Yan Zhenqing, and experience the vividness of Su Dongpo’s ‘Cold Food Poem’. Every step is a visual and perceptual feast, allowing you to roam freely in the ocean of art and appreciate the profoundness and vastness of Chinese calligraphy and painting.
