Immortal Stone is located on the beach 1 kilometer northeast of Shuǐtóu Village in Dapeng, Shenzhen. The stone stands approximately 10 meters tall, resembling a jade seal. On top of the boulder, there are more than ten small stones that look like chess pieces. Surrounding the giant stone, there are numerous reefs in various shapes, some resembling a nurturing cow, others like a howling dog, some similar to swimming fish and shrimps, and others like a flying horse or a reclining lion. During high tide, the area is filled with surging waves and splashing foam, creating a thunderous sound akin to drumming. At low tide, the scene becomes calm with gentle waves and splashing water, rising and falling in a melodious rhythm, like celestial music. A poem from ancient visitors describes the place as follows: ‘A lotus on Qi Niang Mountain, a white crane flying before the eyes. On the Immortal Stone, bells and drums are struck, as the water hits the turtle fish, and a champion emerges.’ It is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
