Chen Rongsen is a distinctive artist of the Lingnan School, who began his artistic journey in 1976 under the tutelage of Zhao Shao’ang. He has also studied traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, and seal cutting with various masters, holding numerous joint and solo exhibitions in Hong Kong, mainland China, and Canada. Chen’s work harmoniously blends traditional ink composition, artistic conception, and ink rhythm with a modern interpretation rich in abstract beauty, showcasing his bold and elegant personal style and embodying the Lingnan School’s innovative spirit of ‘integrating the ancient and modern’. In 2021, Chen Rongsen generously donated 15 calligraphy and painting works to the Hong Kong Museum of Culture. This exhibition features his flower-and-bird and landscape paintings, juxtaposed with works by Professor Zhao Shao’ang, allowing visitors to experience the artistic legacy between teacher and student and appreciate Chen’s rich ink artistry. The exhibition is also one of the series of events promoting Chinese culture. Open from Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 to 18:00; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00. Performance times and durations are subject to the venue.
