The Inner Harbor, located in the west of the Macau Peninsula, has a total length of 3,500 meters. It was the first semi-circular embankment for foreign merchant ships to berth in the North Bay of Macau as a commercial port. The Inner Harbor Dock area has a long history and has a total of 34 docks. Different numbers of docks have different uses, mainly freight, inland water transportation and fishery docks. From the Sino-Portuguese trade to the decline of Macao’s fishing industry, the Inner Harbor has witnessed the rise and fall of Macao’s maritime transportation industry in the past.
