The International Architectural Exhibition is not the name of a single building but refers to the diverse architectural styles found on Gulangyu Island, which combine Chinese and Western elements. These structures are collectively known as the International Architectural Exhibition and represent the essence of Sino-Western cultural exchange on Gulangyu Island.
Among these buildings, you will find traditional Chinese temples with upturned eaves and corners, Minnan-style courtyard houses, the unique combination of Chinese and Western elements in the Bagua Building, delicate Japanese houses, 19th-century European-style former consulates, and the Shuzhuang Garden, which is considered a masterpiece of classical gardens in Jiangnan.
The exhibition is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
