Qingzhou is one of the ancient Nine Provinces. With a long history, it has witnessed the rise and fall of six ancient cities. The current Qingzhou Ancient City was restored in 2011 and consists of three parts: the Beiguan Ancient Block of Dongyang City, the Ouyuan Historical and Cultural Block, South Gate Block of Nanyang City, and the Zhaode Ancient Block of Dongguan Weizi City.
Numerous yamen buildings, traditional dwellings, classical gardens, etc. are scattered throughout the ancient city streets and alleys, featuring distinct Ming and Qing architectural styles and ancient Qingzhou folk customs and traditions.


Many ancient famous officials and literati such as Fan Zhongyan, Ouyang Xiu, and Li Qingzhao have lived here.


Opening hours: The ancient city is open 24 hours a day throughout the year. The business hours of Ouyuan are from 08:00 to 17:30 on Sundays to Thursdays, and from 08:00 to 20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. The closing time of other small scenic spots in the ancient city such as Fucai Gate is 17:30 in the afternoon.
