Ji Xia Village, the ancestral home of the Qing Dynasty’s valiant general Gan Guobao, boasts a rich variety of ancient architectural styles, numerous structures, and large scale. These buildings are strategically laid out along the Ji Shui Stream, including the Ming Dynasty city walls, pavilions, wells, temples, ancestral halls, and ancient bridges, often adorned with colorful paintings and inscriptions, forming a group of exquisitely constructed ancient buildings.
The village faces west and is nestled against the mountains with houses built along the stream, creating an overall layout resembling the shape of a mortar, surrounded by mountains on all sides and embraced by two streams, with clear waters and beautiful scenery. Ji Xia Village is not only pleasant in scenery but also a cradle of talent, leaving behind many cultural landmarks such as the Ming Dynasty’s ancient city tower, the Ma’s Fairy Palace, and the Hua Qiao and Shi Guo Pavilions. The ancient buildings are distinctive, and upon entering the village, one can feel the strong atmosphere of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Opening hours are subject to the announcements at the scenic spot.Ji Xia Ancient Architectural Complex
