The Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is a maritime passage in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China, spanning across Huangdao District, Chengyang District, and Licang District. It is located over Jiaozhou Bay and is an important part of the Qingdao-Lanzhou Expressway (National Expressway G22). It also constitutes one of the main urban arteries in the northwestern part of Qingdao City. The bridge began construction on December 26, 2006, under the name ‘Qingdao Bay Bridge’; completed the main bridge’s closure on December 22, 2010, marking the full bridge connection; was named ‘Jiaozhou Bay Bridge’ on June 23, 2011; and started operation on June 30, 2011.


The bridge starts from the Bay Bridge Interchange in the east, crosses over Jiaozhou Bay, connects with the Hongdao Interchange in the middle, and ends at the Huangdao East Hub Interchange in the west. The total route length is 26.707 kilometers, with the bridge length being 25.881 kilometers. The bridge deck is a two-way six-lane expressway with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. It is open all year round with full-day access.
