The Jieyang Museum, formerly known as the Jieyang County Museum, was built in the 1950s. It is a local comprehensive museum in the city and is now a directly affiliated institution at the section-level with a positive administrative level under the Jieyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication. The museum is responsible for the collection, display and scientific research of cultural relics in the Jieyang area.

Taking the Jieyang Confucian Temple (School Palace) as its site, after years of collecting cultural relics and donations from the public, it has about 20,000 cultural relics and collections of various types. The Jieyang Museum is one of the first batch of patriotism education bases named by the provincial and municipal governments. It often organizes calligraphy and painting exhibitions, popular science exhibitions and other patriotism education activities for primary and secondary school students and new recruits.
