Jile Temple is located at the foot of Hangwu Mountain in Yongjian Village, Kanshan Town, Xiaoshan City, Zhejiang Province. It is a reconstructed temple founded by Master Hai Zhi, the ninth generation of the Linji Sect of Buddhism. In April 1980, Master Hai Zhi sold his own coffin and used the money to start the construction, initially named Fahai Jile Temple.
After enduring numerous hardships, the temple was built with the construction of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of Guanyin, and the Hall of the Three Saints. In 1991, Master Hai Zhi passed away due to overwork, and his disciple, Master Zeng Rui, succeeded him and built the Mahavira Hall. In October 1994, with the approval of the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, the temple was officially opened and named ‘Jile Temple’, becoming an open temple in Xiaoshan City.Jile Temple
