Jinbang Park – A Scenic Blend of Natural and Cultural Beauty in Xiamen

Jinbang Park, named after Jinbang Mountain, is renowned for its beautiful natural and cultural landscapes. Many historical figures, heroes, and literati have visited this place, leaving behind numerous historical anecdotes and cultural traces. During the Tang Dynasty, the scholar Chen An studied and fished here, eventually spending his final years at the foot of Jinbang Mountain. The cave where he studied and lived in seclusion was transformed into a stone chamber, with a building named ‘Yingxian Tower’ constructed above it.

The spot where he fished is known as Diaoji. ‘Jinbang Diaoji’ has been a famous scenic spot in Xiamen since the Qing Qianlong period. Adjacent to Diaoji is the tomb of the national hero Chen Hua, who died resisting British aggression, which is also a must-visit. Jinbang Park consists of four scenic areas: ‘Haibin Zou Lu’, ‘Shi Cu Mi Wu’, ‘Cui Gu Fu Xiang’, and ‘Guo Dao Chun Yin’. The park is filled with flowers, plants, and trees, making it a place with fresh air.

Parents can also bring their children to enjoy amusement facilities. Located in a densely populated area, Jinbang Park attracts many people for morning exercises daily, and it is also frequented by tourists. The park is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
