Jingdong Grand Cave is located on the northeastern side of Pinggu District, Beijing, approximately 90 kilometers away from the city center by car. It is named after its discovery in the Jingdong area and is a natural scenic area primarily known for its cave landscapes. The open area of the cave spans about 2.5 kilometers, featuring various shapes of stalactites and stalagmites. Some resemble floating clouds, others look like lotus flowers, some are like clusters of giant mushrooms, and there are those that look like curtains being rolled up by the west wind. The lighting effects are quite splendid.
The cave maintains a temperature of about several tens of degrees Celsius throughout the year, making it suitable for visits in all seasons. Visitors to Jingdong Grand Cave are guided by free tours that explain the shapes of the stalactites and stalagmites. Walking through the cave takes approximately 2 hours. Connected to the cave is a leisure cave where visitors can drink, taste tea, and escape the heat. However, the online reviews for this area are generally not good, stating that the scenery is not as good as the main cave, so it is not recommended to visit. After visiting the cave, there are some paid entertainment options outside, such as mountain coasters, cable cars, and bungee jumping balls. These activities are usually charged separately, costing a few tens of yuan each. The entertainment options are relatively simple, but if interested, one can participate.
