Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum

Located on the mid-western slope of Ciping, the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum was first established in 1959. The museum’s architecture is simple and solemn, with a distinct national style. It houses 6324 pieces of revolutionary artifacts, over 5000 documents, and more than 4000 historical photos. Additionally, it treasures a TV documentary of Red Army soldiers returning to Jinggangshan and a collection of calligraphy and paintings from people across the country.
The museum covers an area of 17,820 square meters, with the main building featuring a four-story frame structure and a total construction area of 20,030 square meters, including an exhibition area of 8,436 square meters. The new exhibition hall pursues a harmonious and unified display method with the architectural style and environmental atmosphere, striving to promote and showcase a large number of valuable cultural relics, photos, and materials from the Jinggangshan revolutionary period through modern exhibition methods and rich forms. The exhibition hall is divided into 19 scenes, including ‘Preface Hall’, ‘Huangyangjie Defense Battle’, ‘Red Army Cave’, ‘Carrying Grain Up the Mountain’, and ‘The Light of the Octagonal Building’.
The overall design tone of the Preface Hall is grand, simple, bright, and solemn, combining large-scale scene restoration, painting, simulation sculpture, and multi-screen video demonstration into a comprehensive performance project. Visitors stepping into the scene feel as if they are at the Longjiang Academy in front of the assembly square, with two teams surging, vividly presenting historical moments to the audience with a strong sense of presence. The Red Army Cave restores a deep and mysterious cave with two waterfalls cascading down, splashing water droplets, and grotesque rocks on both sides, with strange peaks protruding. Visitors walking through it feel as if they have entered a time tunnel, as if they have returned to Jinggangshan 80 years ago.
