The existing ancient city wall is intact and solid. In 2006, reinforcement and maintenance were carried out, and a stone inscription tablet was erected with the inscription ‘Record of Rebuilding the City Wall’. The stone horizontal plaques of ‘Magnificent View of the Sea’ at the east gate, ‘Tranquil Jinghai Sea’ at the west gate, and ‘Eternal Solidity of Lai Key’ at the north gate are still embedded on the city gates. The Jinghai Ancient City Wall is a witness to the research on the architectural style and historical evolution of ancient city walls. It has certain research value for studying the ancient architecture art and structure of the Ming Dynasty. It also has high historical value, scientific value, and artistic value for researching the ancient coastal defense establishment pattern and the history of coastal resistance against Japanese pirates.
