On the rear side of Wang Temple, Jingu Cave and Yingu Cave are nestled on Qixia Ridge. As the ancients described, within Jingu Cave, one can hear the sound of dripping water, reminiscent of a golden drum striking with a resounding thud, which is how the cave earned its name.
These two karst caves are situated amidst the lush greenery and bamboo of Qixia Ridge, where a cool mountain breeze provides a refreshing escape. The journey is accompanied by the melodious chirping of birds. Qixia Ridge, being neither too high nor far from West Lake, is a favored destination for leisurely strolls and scenic views, particularly during the summer months. Visitors relish the tranquil walk through the forests, the sense of ease it brings, and the opportunity to explore several caves for respite from the heat, as well as to collect crisp spring water that is incredibly refreshing.
