Jinji Mountain Park is located in the southeast corner of Jinji Mountain in Jin’an District, Fuzhou. Jinji Mountain is a branch of the Beiling Mountain Range. Like an extremely huge green jadeite, it lies longitudinally on the east bank of the Jin’an River. It is a famous mountain near Fuzhou City with a profound historical and cultural accumulation. Many precious cultural relics from the Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty have been unearthed here.

The ancient book “Records of Fujian” records: “During the Qin Shi Huang period, the fortune-teller said: There is an auspicious omen of a golden rooster on this mountain.” The mountain is shaped like a rooster, so it is named Jinji Mountain.

In ancient times, there were many scenic spots and historical sites around Jinji Mountain. For example, there was “Qiyun Nunnery” built in the Ming Dynasty on the top of the mountain, and “Jinji Temple” and “Dizang Temple” built in the Tang Dynasty at the foot of the mountain.

There were also many charming scenery nearby, such as Sangxi, Qushui, and litchi forests. Especially, Jinji Mountain still retains the original appearance of the natural mountain forest. It is a scenic area with a strong rustic charm that is rare in Fuzhou urban area.

When you enter the park gate, a large group sculpture of “The Golden Rooster Announces Dawn” appears in front of you. The group sculpture is 8 meters high.

Nineteen roosters with different postures, vivid and lifelike, stand on the rockery. They perfectly reflect the theme and characteristics of the whole park and have become the symbol of the park. Behind the group sculpture, the screen is an arc-shaped bluestone relief screen wall that is 3 meters high and 15 meters long, titled “Pastoral Song in the Wilderness”. The wall shows a simple and elegant rural scenery.

The whole relief is like a beautiful idyllic landscape hymn.

When you walk deep into the park, you seem to be in the embrace of the pure nature. Surrounded by green mountains, with lush trees, bamboo groves, pink peach blossoms in full bloom, rhododendrons competing for beauty, green grass, gurgling water, elegant pavilions and simple arch bridges. Huge rocks are scattered on the hills, rugged and steep.

The park is full of spring scenery, just like a colorful three-dimensional landscape painting.

Opening hours: Open from 6:30 to 21:30 throughout the year.
