In the second year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1404), the imperial court dispatched four hundred-household chiefs named Cui, Jiang, Tang, and Tian, leading soldiers to come to the south of Weifang City to reclaim land. While reclaiming land and ensuring military supplies, the officers and soldiers rebuilt the Guanyin Temple, which is the predecessor of Jinquan Temple. A comprehensive renovation was carried out in the thirtieth year of Qianlong (1775). Later, due to successive wars, it gradually declined and became dilapidated and was finally destroyed in the 1960s.
