Jinrui Bamaili

Bamaili Scenic Island showcases a diverse range of architectural styles. The aquatic forest in Qingshan Lake within the scenic area presents a unique landscape and is truly a wonder. Tourists can row boats here and enjoy the sight of “trees growing in the water and boats cruising in the forest”. Legend has it that Pengzu, the ancestor of longevity who lived to be 800 years old, once resided by Qingshan Lake in Lin’an, giving the place its name Bamaili. The hills in the area are clustered and undulating; the streams along the lake meander and the coves are secluded; the mountains and forests are lush and the scenery is beautiful. More than 100 ancient buildings from Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian and other places have been collected and combined to form an antique commercial old street and a wonderful ancient village. There are various types of buildings among them. Yamen, temples, stages, ancestral halls, academies, pavilions, and residences are well-arranged and complement each other. The exquisite stone carvings, brick carvings, wood carvings and ingenious architectural layout in the scenic area show tourists an ancient architectural history of Jiangnan.
