Jinshanling Great Wall is located at the junction of Luanping County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, and Miyun County, Beijing, about 130 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing and 80 kilometers from Chengde Summer Resort. It was built under the supervision of Qi Jiguang, who served as the general officer of Jizhou during the period from 1567 to 1582. Known as the quintessence of the Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall is renowned for its broad vision, dense enemy towers, unique landscapes, exquisite architectural art, well-preserved military defense system, and preservation in good condition, earning the reputation of ‘The Most Beautiful Section of the Great Wall’.
The Great Wall stretches 10.5 kilometers from Longyukou in the west to Wangjinglou in the east, with 5 passes, 67 watchtowers, and 3 beacon towers.
