Jing Ting Study Hall is a private school located in Hang Mei Village, Ping Shan, which was completed in 1870. It was built by the twenty-second ancestor of the Deng clan, Xiangquan, in memory of his father, Jing Ting, to establish a study hall for cultivating the children of the clan to pass the imperial examinations, enter the officialdom, and enhance the social status of the family. Therefore, Jing Ting Study Hall has both educational and ancestral worship significance. The study hall is a two-part structure, with the first part being the entrance hall, the second part being the main hall where the ancestral tablets of past generations are enshrined, and a courtyard in the middle with side rooms on both sides. It is open all year round from 9:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00.
