The Jiulongshan Nature Reserve is located in the southwest of Suichang, with a total area of 300,000 mu. The main peak is 1724 meters, which is the fourth highest peak in Zhejiang Province. There are nearly 10,000 mu of virgin natural forests above an altitude of 1000 meters, which have the typical characteristics of mid-subtropical broad-leaved forest vegetation. There are more than 1,340 species of plants belonging to 637 genera and 173 families in the reserve, and 18 key protected plants. There are 149 species of vertebrates, and more than ten kinds of rare animals such as macaques, leopards, clouded leopards, golden cats, giant salamanders, and whiskered toads. It is known as the ‘biological gene bank’. The magnificent ten-mile Rhododendron simiarum corridor in the reserve is rare in the country, and there is also the mysterious ‘mystery of wild people’. The nature reserve was established in 1983. There are scenic spots such as Sizhou Orchid, Caixiangyan, Longjing, Fanzhengtan, Baxian Fishing Terrace, Dayan, and Shimen.
